Welcome to the Futsal Super 5's website!
Futsal (the International 5-a-side Indoor Game) is the only indoor soccer game sanctioned by FIFA, (Federation Internationale de Football Association). In Australia, futsal is governed by the FFA (Football Federation of Australia) and is Australia's fastest growing sport. Futsal has taken the country by storm as more and more football players, coaches, clubs and associations discover the unique and positive qualities of Futsal.
Futsal uses a special low bounce ball, which encourages players to develop skills instead of using a balls' bounce to propel it. People who play futsal sharpen their reflexes and improve their decision-making under pressure. With a 4 second restart rule, small playing area and unlimited substitutions the game offers fast non-stop action and significantly increases a players speed of play. Furthermore, playing within an area bounded by a touchline all around the court, it further encourages players to keep the ball in play instead of relying on walls, as often used in other versions of indoor soccer.
Since the basic principles such as passing, shooting, and running into space are essential to master the game, futsal allows these principles to be emphasised, particularly early in a player's development. Those who play futsal get more opportunities to get involved in the play, and by doing so there is less chance of them getting disinterested in contrast to outdoor 11 a side soccer.
Great football (soccer) players including Pele, Ronaldinho, Juninho, Robinho and Ronaldo grew up playing Futsal on the many Futsal courts found throughout Brazil and credit Futsal for many of the skills in which they have perfected.
So, why not join a Futsal Super 5's league and give Futsal a go?
